Help Guide: Signing up for the NINR Nurse Scientist Course

Please select a user type below for a step-by-step guidance to sign up for the newly launched NINR Developing Nurse Scientist Course.

New User

  1. Click the "Sign Up" button.

  2. You will be directed to the NIH Secure Identity Solutions page where you will first choose an account type: "Social Login/Open ID" or "NIH Staff".

    1. Social ID/Open ID

      If you are not NIH staff, please choose "Social ID/Open ID" for the account type. You will then select one of the following options:

      • Google Login
      • PayPal Login

       

      Click on the option of your choice and click "Continue". You will be redirected to the Google or PayPal login screen, depending on your selection, where you will log in using your personal username and password. (Note: if you do not have a Google or Paypal account you will have to register for one to access the course.)

      After logging in to your Gmail/Paypal account, you will return to the Developing Nurse Scientist Course website.

    2. NIH Staff

      NIH staff have an option to sign up using their NIH credentials. After choosing "NIH Staff", follow the usual NIH login procedure.

  3. Enter your name and click the "Save" button.

  4. Once you sign in, you will see the Welcome page with a list of the course modules.

    Congratulations, you are ready to take the NINR Developing Nurse Scientist course!

Existing User (Registered Prior April 10, 2017)

Note: if you did not complete the course before its relaunch on April 10, 2017, you will need to restart the course.

 

  1. Click the "Sign up" button

  2. You will be directed to the NIH Secure Identity Solutions page where you will first choose an account type: "Social Login/Open ID" or "NIH Staff".

    1. Social ID/Open ID

      If you are not NIH staff, please choose "Social ID/Open ID" for the account type. You will then select one of the following options:

      • Google Login
      • PayPal Login

       

      Click on the option of your choice and click "Continue". You will be redirected to the Google or PayPal login screen, depending on your selection, where you will log in using your personal username and password. (Note: if you do not have a Google or PayPal account you will have to register for one to access the course.)

      After logging in to your Gmail/Paypal account, you will return to the Developing Nurse Scientist Course website.

      Note: if you would like to sign up with a different Google/PayPal account, please log out from the first one and start from Step 1.

    2. NIH Staff

      NIH Staff have an option to sign up using their NIH credentials. After choosing "NIH Staff", follow the usual NIH login procedure.

  3. Once back in the Nurse Scientist Course website, you can find and match your old account to a newly created one. Click the "Already have an account?"

    If your previous account was associated with a Gmail address, all fields should be automatically populated. If your previous account was associated with an email address other than Gmail, follow the steps below.

    1. Type the email address with which you previously registered and click the "Search" button.

       

       

    2. If information is incorrect, or your old account was not found, please click the Skip button to finish signing up, and contact NINR for help retrieving your old account.

       

       

    3. If your account is found, the fields below will be filled with your information. If information is correct, click the "Save/Verify" button, which will send a verification email to the email address you used to register in the old system. Click the verification link in the email to link your old account to the new one.

       

       

    4. You will receive an email with a verification link on your old email address. Click on the link to validate your email address. 

       

       

  4. Once your email is validated, you will see the Welcome page with a list of the course modules. Modules will be marked complete only if you completed the course prior to April 10, 2017. If you started, but did not complete the course prior to April 10, 2017, you will have to restart the course.
